Preparing for your Wild Reset retreat

Welcome

With just a few weeks to go, I'm getting more and more excited about all the magical things to come! Below you'll find practical information that will help you feel ready as we come together at 42 Acres this May.

The flow of each day

We normally kick off each day around 7am with a gentle practice of breath work, movement, and meditation. This is followed by breakfast. We then spend the day doing a mixture of workshops and other activities, including time at the lake and sauna. We eat dinner at around 7pm and our final practice of the day is usually a yoga nidra meditation at around 8:30 pm. Some people mosey off to bed, and others head to the fire circle for a bit of fireside stargazing.

On arrival at the retreat on Friday, you’ll be greeted with drinks and snacks, and we’ll start our opening practice at 4.45pm.

It’s important to know that this is your retreat. You’re invited to dip in and out of sessions as you choose, and to go at your own pace. This freedom is an essential part of coming back into balance and supporting your nervous system regulation.

The retreat starts at 4pm on Friday the 1st of May and ends at 2pm on Sunday the 3rd May.

What to pack

  • Comfortable yoga clothes

  • A warm cardi or jumper to throw on after practice if you need it

  • Slippers or cosy socks (shoes are removed indoors)

  • Easy slip-on shoes for moving around the venue

  • Swimwear and a beach towel for the sauna or lake (bath towels are provided but can’t be taken out of rooms). If you own a dry robe, that might also be useful to wear on the way back from the sauna and swim

  • Outdoor layers (boots, waterproofs, or sunhat, depending on the weather)

  • Torch (the site is majestically dark at night)

  • Journal and pen (even if you're not a big journaler, it's useful to have something to write down things you learn and find useful that you want to take home with you. It's often hard to remember what happened on retreat when you get back to the bustle of day-to-day life!)

  • A book (there’s a full itinerary on offer, but if you are tired or feel like some quiet ‘me’ time in one of the gorgeous snugs, it might be nice to have a good read on hand)

Yoga mats and props, bathroom towels, coffee, teas, and water will be provided.

Food & drink

Thank you for sharing your dietary needs when you completed the retreat booking form. The chefs at 42 Acres have embraced this and created a wonderful menu of fresh, nourishing meals for our weekend together. All food - breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner - is included. Of course, you're welcome to bring extra snacks if you want. It’s worth knowing that we’ll do a morning practice before breakfast each day, so if you need to eat first thing, bring a small snack to eat before morning practice. Breakfast will be served at approximately 9am each day. On drinks - coffee, teas, breakfast juices and drinking water are provided. If you’d like any other soft drinks, please bring these with you. Please also note that dairy and oat milk are provided. If you prefer any alternative milks, please bring some with you. If you’re flying in and this will be tricky, let me know and I will sort it out for you :)

Photography consent

Our team will be capturing some of the special moments during the retreat for use on social media and in future retreat promotion. At the start of the retreat, we’ll check in with everyone about this - if you prefer not to be photographed, we’ll ensure you’re positioned out of frame so you can still fully enjoy the retreat experience without being included in photos.

Sharing on socials

I love it when guests share their retreat experiences and reflections - it’s a wonderful way to inspire others, and it’s really helpful to me as a small business to help get the word out in an authentic way. If you do post on social media, please tag @roriyoga so I can see and share :) If you do share, please do so sensitively, keeping in mind the privacy and comfort of fellow guests who may not wish to appear in photos or videos.

Contact

If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact me directly. My mobile number and email address are in the ‘Important info’ email.

I really can’t wait to share this retreat with you all!
